01.23.2026 “Manically Free”

Today I released “Manically Free,” my first original song since 2024. You can listen to it HERE!

This song was born after months of winter malaise, in a moment when I stepped out of a coffee shop in North Carolina and into the bright morning sunshine. It’s probably safe to say I deal with a bit of what they call Seasonal Affective Disorder. Sometimes it’s hard to see the light because it’s behind the clouds. Sometimes it’s hard to see because you’ve had your head down so long, you forgot you can look up. What can I say? Nothing chases away the darkness quite like the light.

Sometimes people who are simply healthy, functional humans seem almost manic to me––but after I get a little light and a dose of perspective, I realize it’s only because I was depressed that they seemed that way. I hope my moment of “mania” might remind you that leaving your mind behind and simply basking in the warm sunshine of life is a joyous and wonderful miracle. I may need you to remind me of that someday.

I hope you enjoy this song.
